Random HouseMartina Fischer grew up in Chiemgau and was interested in producing her own food and being self-sufficient from an early age. Since 2011, the trained nurse has spent every summer on a mountain pasture in the Spitzingsee region, where she works as a dairymaid. She has written about her experiences during the summer months, particularly in relation to living with animals, but also the abundance of herbs that can be found on alpine meadows. She has written three books on her time up there and also shares her experiences as a speaker and coach.
